I AM a bit late with my views on the child Naomi Tyrie, who was banned from school because she has epilepsy (LET, November 27). This ban was likely to do more harm than good, as it could have caused Naomi great stress and therefore have her fits increase in number.
Nowadays, the medication she needs can be taken morning and evening or evening only. Another alterative was for her to take it as soon as she got home from school at 3.30pm.
I know quite a number of epileptic children who go to schools in Hyndburn and others who have passed through local schools without any problem. Schools are greatly in need of educating in the field of epilepsy.
