AMERICAN agents are poised to interview a man arrested by Indian police investigating the fate of Blackburn student Paul Wells.
James Bowman, director of the Hostages In Kashmir Campaign, said the FBI hoped to speak to the suspect before the New Year.
He added: "We understand that he is somebody quite high up in the terrorist movement responsible for the kidnap of the Westerners.
"He is thought to be their pay-master. But no-one other than the Indian authorities has been able to get near to him yet."
