PUPILS took their parents on a whirlwind tour of the world when they put on their Christmas show.
The production by Lostock Hall High School, Preston was based on festive celebrations around the globe, a theme which was inspired by a Citizen competition.
We wrote to a selection of local schools asking pupils to design posters for our Christmas supplements about customs in other countries, and children and staff thought this was a cracking idea for their play.
Pupils presented sketches covering Christmas in France, Germany, Holland, Austria, Sweden, Australia and, of course, England. They dressed in native costume and the highlight featured a head-dress crowned with electric lights looking like candles.
The shows went down a treat, in particular the special performance put on for local pensioners who were picked up by staff in a minibus. The guests of honour were also treated to sherry and mince pies.
Lostock Hall High's contribution to our design competition featured in our December 4 edition. The overall winner will be announced in the Citizen's Christmas edition on December 25.
