HOW crass of Cllr Stephenson to publicise his new job for the boys, at a payment of £15,000. There was no mention in the article that he had any actual service in running an ambulance station.
Lucky Cllr Stephenson, with three sources of income, his salary from the Probation Service, the £15,000 from the Ambulance Service (which is roughly £288 per week), and his expenses being a local councillor on Wigan MBC. None of these posts contribute anything to the economy.
When fixing the Community Charge for 1998/9 financial year, remember Cllr Stephenson that the majority of the people paying the charge do not have access to three wage packets.
