LANCASHIRE'S police horses are living in the lap of luxury after a major upgrade of their stables.
Their old wooden home has been demolished, to be replaced by some of the best facilities for police horses in the country. The new £240,000 stables make mucking-out more simple, giving officers and their horses more time to concentrate on the job in hand. The new stables, at Holme Mead near to the Hutton HQ were opened by Police Authority Chairman Councillor Dr Ruth Henig.
They can house 16 horses.
