A HEALTH Care Trust is celebrating a treble victory after winning three prestigious awards. Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Health Care NHS Trust has won a top award for its Health at Work strategy while also being awarded Chartermarks for its Hotel and Site Services and X-Ray Services.
The Health at Work award was presented by the Health Education Authority. It is an important long-term programme to promote and improve staff health and fitness.
Chief executive John Thomas said: "I am extremely pleased that the Trust has achieved this top level award. Our staff are the Trust's most valuable resource and the promotion of their good health and fitness is essential to the delivery of a high quality service for patients."
It proved to be third time lucky for the Trust's Radiology (X-Ray) Department who were awarded the full Chartermark after being highly recommended on two previous occasions.
Dr Phillip Garwood said: "Being awarded the prestigious Chartermark is a testament to the skill and dedication of all our staff."
Hotel and Site Services, which won the second Chartermark award for the Trust, comprise of a wide range of services including portering, catering, house keeping, car parking, administration, accommodation and security.
