A HOUSING officer with Burnley council has been sacked after a disciplinary hearing.
The dismissal follows allegations about houses being inappropriately allocated.
Burnley Council is refusing to release further details or to identify the employee.
An appeal against the decision has already been lodged. It will be heard before January 7. The exact date has yet to be determined.
Council personnel manager John Booth said no further comment will be made until after the conclusion of the appeal.
It will be heard by the Council's Appeals Committee, whose members are all councillors.
