HARD work and commitment has paid off for staff at a nursery.
Feniscowles Pre-School in Blackburn received a commendable report from OFSTED inspectors.
The report said that most children would be likely to achieve in all six areas of learning by the time they reached five years of age.
It found the major strengths were personal and social development, language, literacy and mathematics.
The pupils' knowledge and understanding of the world, creative and physical development are good.
The standard of teaching across all six areas of learning was commended and staff, who work well as a team, are aiming to produce a record keeping system to enable planning and teaching to be more effective.
Staff meet to plan and review work regularly and give equal access to all activities as well as providing appropriate work to extend to the more able.
Relationships between carers and parents are good, with parents encouraged to help out on a rota basis.
