A MAN is in a critical condition after his car collided with an articulated lorry on the East Lancashire Road.
The accident happened at 5.15pm on Tuesday as the lorry was turning right onto the Manchester-bound carriageway from Haydock Lane. As it did so, a Vauxhall Astra travelling on the outside lane of the Liverpool-bound side collided with it causing severe head, chest and internal injuries to the driver, 23 year old Mark Jeffrey Taylor from Upton on the Wirral. He was rushed to Whiston Hospital.
