TWO men posing as police officers conned their way into a home and stole jewellery.
The men called at the house in Sussex Grove, Parr, at about 9.45pm on Wednesday, Dec 10 claiming they were from the CID and were checking for stolen goods. After flashing what appeared to be an identity card, they went upstairs.
When the couple became suspicious and went up to check they found the men had gone. They later discovered that two Casio digital watches valued at £199 each, a wedding ring and other items of jewellery had been stolen.
Both men were white, about 5ft 10ins tall and in their 30s. One of them had jet-black hair, a flushed complexion and spoke with a St Helens accent.
