Clock Face Miners 22 Leigh Royal Oak 24 CLOCK'S unbeaten home run came to an end in this exciting encounter on Saturday.
However, Clock took the lead when full-back Graham Leadbetter scored near the posts, allowing Paul Cooney a simple conversion.
But in muddy conditions Royal Oak drew level with a converted try.
With Stephen Hayes, David Hamilton and Carl Thompson working hard for Clock, they regained the lead just before the break with a Paul Cooney penalty goal.
After the break Royal Oak grabbed another try and Clock reduced the deficit with a penalty goal.
But two further tries by the Leigh side put them back in the driving seat.
With less than 10 minutes to go David Hamilton and Gary Devine kept the ball alive before Barber reached out to touch down. Paul Cooney landed a good conversion.
Two minutes later Clock struck again when Cooney had the ball ripped from his grasp. As the ball rolled over the line Ian Tracey pounced to touch down. Cooney added the extras.
