Redhill 48 Blackbrook 10 NATIONAL Conference first division pace-setters Redhill kept up the pressure at the top at the expense of Brook on Saturday.
Without four key players from the start, Brook battled bravely throughout. But they had no answer to Redhill's trump card, full-back Steve Embling.
He amassed 24 points from 10 goals and a 45-metre try. And he started the ball rolling as early as the fourth minute with a penalty.
And Redhill's momentum continued with tries from Dave Kay (2) and Martin Burgess, with Embling adding the extras.
However, Brook grabbed an excellent try. Dave Ryan, Ian Buddey and Phil Smith made significant progress into home territory. Then the in-form Gareth Hill collected Stuart Worsley's inside pass to go over.
However, Redhill stamped their authority on the game to open up a 26-4 interval lead with tries by Ian Douglas and Embling, who also added the conversions.
But Brook came back into the game in the second period as Ian Buddey went on a 35-metre run to the line for a try converted by Paul Toole.
But Redhill stepped up a gear and scored tries through Martin Ketteridge, Dave Probert and Wayne Pearse.
Dave Ryan received the Blackbrook/ Construction Power Services man of the match accolade.
