LEIGH'S oldest resident has died, aged 106.
Ida Molyneux who was a self-confessed 'chocaholic' credited her love of the confectionary for her longevity.
Widowed in the First World War she lived in later years at Hourigan House in Leigh where she entertained fellow residents with karaoke sessions and playing the piano!
She was born at the height of the British Empire, outlived five monarchs, came through two world wars and witnessed everything from man's first attempt at flying to the present space missions.
Ida, who was buried on Thursday in Leigh Cemetery following a service at Leigh Parish Church, is survived by two sisters.
