A thug who sprayed what is believed to be CS gas into the face of a man is being hunted by police. The attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Alex public house on Thurnham Street, Lancaster where the victim was drinking. Following an argument with a man the victim was pressed against a wall in the pub and sprayed in the face with a small canister of what is believed to be CS gas. The attacker then ran off leaving the victim choking on the ground from the effects of the gas. A police spokesman said: "This was a nasty attack and we are looking for the person responsible. Anyone with information about it, should contact us immediately."
