BURNLEY boss Chris Waddle was left cursing his luck today after his side's latest cruel set-back.
And the player-manager, who dropped himself to sub last night, has more headaches on the horizon.
Left wing back Paul Weller is due in hospital on Monday for an operation on a niggling knee injury that will keep him out of action for four weeks.
And Waddle also faces losing midfielder Damien Matthew, due at Northampton Town next week to open talks about a £50,000 move.
Substitute Danny Cullip's last minute header stole the points for Fulham to condemn the Clarets to their sixth defeat in seven games.
Waddle was convinced his side had done enough to win the game. He said: "I thought we were definitely worth a result.
"We were in control of the game but you just don't get the breaks when you are at the bottom and that's the way it has been going all season. People don't understand and think excuses are excuses.
"But all I'm short of at the moment is a little bit of luck."
I cannot ask for any more commitment. The players gave all they had. "If the players keep working like that it will change.
"People who have seen us on a regular basis cannot believe the position we are in." The Fulham goal followed a debatable handball decision on the edge of the Burnley area, when Michael Williams was ruled to have blocked a cross with his hands.
Skipper Lee Howey said: "The same could have been said a couple of minutes earlier at the other end when Neil Moore crossed the ball and it hit one of their players on the hand. So we feel a bit hard done by."
Howey added: "We've only been beaten by the odd goal quite a few times this season and now we are hoping we can turn things around. We've got some tough games coming up but I cannot fault the spirit and commitment of the players.
"The way this division stands at the moment, all you need is a bit of a run and before long you will be in mid-table.
"It does take time to adjust to a new manager and new tactics but then it's the same for Fulham and we can have no excuses on that score.
"I thought that by the end we deserved a win, let alone a draw."
