IN reference to the article about drinking and driving (LET, December 20), I think that it is disgusting that the police only have a purge at Christmas. They should do it every day for 52 weeks.
If only the people who do it would stop and think how they would feel if a drunk killed one or more of their family. Or are their minds so small that they think that it will not happen to them?
I myself have in the past, had a drink and drove, but not now - for at least 10 years. I realised how I would feel if it happened to my family.
Why don't drink-drivers stop and think about others instead of themselves.
The public also should help if they see drink-driving and ring the police and, for want of a better word, they should "grass" on them.
