CHART topping band Chumbawamba have backed the Burnley and Pendle Anti-Nazi League campaign against racism at Turf Moor.
The British National Party has been distributing literature to football fans on match days.
The Anti-Nazi league has been supported in its campaign by Burnley MP Peter Pike who said this week: "I am concerned to see the Nazi BNP attempting to inject the poison of racism into Burnley Football Club."
Now the Burnley band, who reached number two with anthem Tubthumping and are ardent Clarets fans, has backed the campaign.
A spokesman for the band said: "You're welcome to add Chumbawamba's name to the campaign.
"We've repeatedly denounced racism at Turf Moor through our web site."
A previous release of Chumbawamba's was 'Enough is Enough' which was a call to organise against the threat of racist and fascist groups such as the BNP.
A spokesman for the league said: "Chumbawamba's backing is a real boost. The campaign is going very well. We gave out 2,500 leaflets at last Saturday's game against Wigan and many fans told us they were glad something was being done.
"We hope that fans will write to the club expressing their opposition to the presence of the BNP."
