Kingston Hawks 5 Lancashire Hawks 7
ADRIAN Lomonaco pulled out a real Christmas cracker for Lancashire Hawks in Hull last night to leave Kingston Hawks in a real flap.
The canny Canadian bagged a man of the match award for a first class performance, proving once again why he has become a cult hero at the Arena, chipping in three goals on top of three assists.
He is now less than 10 points from scoring his century this season and saw Hawks well on their way, and with a 4-0 cushion at the first period the visitors never looked threatened.
Netminder Barry Hollyhead was on top form too, dealing with 34 shots on goal, and yet clinical Hawks scored with almost a 50 per cent pass rate with only 16 shots all told.
It is Hawks first win in six against Kingston and a welcome Christmas present for manager Mike Cockayne and his put-upon men.
Hawks go back on the festive trail with a tough double header against Peterborough Pirates this weekend in the Christmas Cup.
Period scores: 0-4, 2-1, 3-2.
Goal scorers: Lomonaco 3+3, Daniels 2+1, Haig 1+2, Dempsey 1+0, Hough 0+3, Abel 0+1.
