THIS Labour Government are the pits. In April, the TV licence fee will rise by a massive £6, so any increase given to pensioners in 1998 will immediately be snatched back two-fold.
The TV is a lifeline for many housebound and isolated pensioners. Also, the Government, we hear, are thinking of adding VAT to the cost of white walking sticks and other aids used by the blind.
Remember the Labour theme tune during their election campaign - "Things can only get better"? I am disgusted with their track record up to date. Dare I say: "A happy New Year"?
