THE family whose history I am researching is named Watts and I have traced some members to East Lancashire in 1881, so perhaps descendants are still in the area.
John Watts married Sarah Ashforth in 1804 in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire. Their children were Anne (b. 1804), John (b. 1811), Monica (b. 1814) who married James Bonney in 1851, and Benjamin and Mary, who married a man called Jones.
The 1881 Census shows Monica and James Bonney living at Clayton-le-Moors with their children, Catherine and Joseph.
Benjamin, I have been unable to trace and hope this letter may bring results.
John Watts (b. 1811) married Ann Hill in 1835 in Yorkshire and moved with his family of Sarah (b. 1837), Ann (1839), James (1843), Joseph (1845) and John (1850) to Deptford, Kent.
I would love to hear from anyone who can relate to these families.
