A 23-YEAR-OLD man has fallen 30ft from a house roof on to a concrete floor.
David Graham of Royds Street, Accrington, had been carrying out repair work on the roof of a terrace house in Charter Street, Accrington.
He suffered a fractured pelvis and a broken elbow.
Mr Graham was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary where his condition was described as "comfortable".
Paramedics had to use a special stretcher for back injury victims to move Mr Graham.
Paramedic Eilean Schofield, of Accrington ambulance, said: "He must have fallen about 30ft off the roof. He remained conscious though he was in a lot of pain."
Mr Graham had been working with another man at the time of the accident.
Staff from nearby Chester Garage covered the injured man in coats to keep him warm while waiting for paramedics.
The alarm was raised after a man, believed to be Mr Graham's father, ran into the garage and asked staff to call an ambulance.
Mr Vincent Barnes, who rents the house where the work was being done, said the two men had been fixing ridge tiles to stop a leak in the roof.
He added: "I didn't know anything about until the staff at the garage told me.
"I have only lived here since Monday last week and know the repairs had to be carried out for work on the electrics to be done."
