A SCHOOLGIRL was raped after being driven off in a car by two men from outside a popular Bury night club.

The 14-year-old girl was driven from the Roxy in Rochdale Road to an unknown house where the assault took place.

Later, she was dropped off by car at the junction of Grindsbrook Road and Higher Ainsworth Road in Radcliffe before making her way to a nearby home to ask for help.

Police are anxious to talk to anyone who may have seen the teenager either outside the night club or later in Radcliffe.

Det Insp Keith Dillon of Whitefield CID said the girl had gone to the nightclub with three friends.

He added: "She had been drinking earlier and was rather the worse for wear."

However, when the 14-year-old felt unwell, she went outside for fresh air, leaving her friends inside.

"The girl was then approached by two men who initially appeared to be trying to look after her," said Det Insp Dillon.

The men and the teenager then got into a dark-coloured, three-door hatchback estate car which had apparently been parked at a chip shop opposite the Roxy.

"She was then taken to a house and subjected to a serious sexual assault," added Det Insp Dillon.

"We don't know where this house was, but it must have been in the Bury area."

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday, December 22.

Detectives are now hunting the two men, both of whom spoke with a Manchester accent.

One was aged 25-30, had short hair and was of medium build. He had an unusual scar on the left side of his face, running from his chin to his voice box. He spoke with a gruff accent.

Det Insp Dillon continued: "I am now appealing for anybody who saw the girl outside the Roxy to come forward.

"They may have seen the two men approach her and then go off in the car. We hope a witness may have taken the registration number."

He went on: "We also want to talk to anybody who saw the girl being dropped off in the Grindsbrook Road area later."
