A WOMAN was wrestled to the ground after a 'jogger' tried to snatch her handbag on a busy main road.
The 47-year-old woman was walking up Grimshaw Park, Blackburn, close to the Lex Mead garage, when a man wearing white running shorts approached from behind.
Thinking he was a jogger she moved to let him pass, but he tried to steal her handbag. She refused to let go and was dragged to the floor, rolling into the road. The thug fled empty-handed along Crossfield Street.
A Blackburn CID spokesman said: "This happened at 5.20pm last night on a very busy road and we would like to hear from anyone who saw anything.
"The lady was shaken up and had cuts and grazes but was otherwise all right."
Her attacker is white, around 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build with dark, collar-length hair. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt, white running shorts and white trainers.
