PUTTING VAT on blind persons' white walking sticks is the worst thing anyone could think of.
I run a small cycle shop and was about to put pen to paper about VAT on cycle accessories that are for safety - such as lights, reflector jackets, helmets, etc.
These things help to stop accidents, so they should be zero-rated.
But after reading about the walking stick scandal, I think I would be wasting my time.
I think everybody should write to their MPs, tell him what they think and where to stick this VAT.
