THE deadline is looming for taxpayers to sort out their finances.
Accountants Kidsons Impey of Blackburn are warning that many people face fines if they do not meet the self assessment deadline of January 31.
"Failure to submit your tax return will result in penalties - an automatic flat rate of £100 for late submission and another £100 if the return is still outstanding six months later," warned Mike Hull, tax partner.
"Failure to pay the tax by the due date will also result in a further interest charge."
