HEALTH bosses in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale rejected a devastating £1.9 million package of cuts - and put their own heads on the chopping block for their action.
They unanimously threw out proposals to axe wards and slash more than 150 jobs - including 42 at Brockhall and Calderstones - to help pay for any Government underfunding of nurses' pay rises.
