A MAN died and four people were injured when a car left a busy motorway, overturned and crashed.
A police spokesman said the driver may have become ill before losing control of the vehicle on the M6 at Leyland, near Preston.
Paramedics rushed to the accident close to the southbound junction 28 but 31-year-old Volodimer Yakovlef was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three of those travelling in the car - Dimitri Stoyanov, of Castleton Road, Preston; 24-year-old Ladisav Novak; and Dimitare Filkov-Ivanov -are all in a satisfactory condition in Chorley Hospital.
The driver, Vladislav Onikitchovk, 22, of Norfolk Road, Preston, received slight injuries.
Another motorist died was killed on the same motorway on January 7 and police are anxious to trace a vehicle.
The unnamed woman who is believed to be from Lancaster died in the crash on the southbound M6 between Lancaster South services and Garstang at 6.40am.
Police need to talk to the driver of a yellow open-backed goods vehicle with IMP or similar written on the tailgate. Call 01772 614444.
