WARM-hearted staff at Daniel Thwaites collected sackfuls of useful goods to give the Darwen branch of Women's Aid a happy New Year.
The donated items - which will go to abused women and children - were gathered by Thwaites sports and social club members.
Christine Kenny, local branch treasurer, said: "We couldn't believe how much had been collected but we're absolutely delighted.
"We exist for the benefit of all women and children experiencing physical, mental and sexual abuse in their homes."
She added: "We often deal with emergency situations with women requiring refuge and clothes and general goods are always welcome.
"We cannot thank the people at Thwaites enough for their help."
Christine Feldwicke, Thwaites sports and social club secretary, said: "We wanted to help a local worthy cause and the response from people at the brewery has been fantastic."
