A BOOMING mill store is considering pulling down nearby industrial units to make way for extra car parking spaces.
Boundary Mill Shop, Colne, wants to create the car park on land bordered by Corporation Street, Burnley Road, Whitewalls Drive and Regent Street. The area contains a number of small industrial premises including a unit owned by Boundary Mill.
Houses in Burnley Road are not included in the scheme.
Boundary Mill currently has an arrangement with the neighbouring Asda store to share its large car park.
But on Saturdays in particular the car park fills quickly and there is often chaos as drivers search for a space.
The store, which sells designer clothes, home furnishings, glass and china, attracts customers from across the North, including many coach parties on a day out.
A company spokesman said: "We are looking to improve the car parking but we're not in a position yet to be putting in a planning application."
