TWO men charged with raping a 14-year-old school girl were arrested following a "high profile press campaign", a court at Bury was told.
Thomas Petch, 24, of Hoyle Street, Radcliffe and 35-year-old Barry Forbes from Warwick Close, Bury are accused of raping the girl on December 22 of last year.
In addition, both men are also charged with depriving the teenager of her liberty and unlawfully carrying her away against her will.
After the attack in Bury last month, police issued a major appeal through the local media in a bid to track down the girl's attackers.
Both Petch and Forbes had their case adjourned until January 13. Bail was refused and reporting restrictions were not lifted.
