ATHERTON Heritage Society have announced their programme for 1998.
It begins on Monday when Mrs P Madden will talk about 'The Way We Were' - a look back at life in a small corner of Lancashire in 1900.
Mrs F Greenhalgh will give a talk entitled 'Around Shrewsbury' on February 9.
'Through Glass Brightly' - the story of English stained glass - is the topic of M Curry's talk on March 9.
M Gilberston will talk about 'Votes for Women in Lancashire' on April 6.
'Romans in Atherton' is the title of Mr T Jackson's talk on May 11.
And on June 8 Revd P Hughes and Mr Glover will give 'The Story of Chowbent Chapel' - a history of the chapel over 250 years.
Meetings start at 7.30pm in Atherton Methodist Hall, High Street. Admission £1 for members, £1.50 for non-members and that includes refreshments.
