AN 18-year-old woman and her eight-week-old baby were treated for smoke inhalation in Whiston Hospital following a suspected arson attack at their home in Blackbrook.
The blaze was reported at about 2.25am on New Year's Eve at the house in Parbold Avenue. It is believed to have started after a flammable substance was poured through the letterbox. Fire officers attended the scene and the house was slightly damaged by fire and smoke.
