BLACKPOOL Pleasure Beach has invested more than £1 million in a new live entertainment venue.
The Globe theatre will have seating for an audience of more than 1,000 and will feature a state of the art sound and light system with multi-dimensional effects.
Situated on the site of the old Superdome, the theatre will be officially opened on July 18 after a week of preview shows.
The venue's first show will be the world premiere of Eclipse, a conceptual production based upon the elements of fire, water and air.
Eclipse will star, direct from Las Vegas, the internationally acclaimed aerial artiste Vladimir, who recently performed before Her Majesty The Queen at the Royal Variety Performance and has delighted audiences worldwide.
For the past three years he has been electrifying audiences on the Las Vegas strip with a performance billed as a visual experience of breathtaking aerial poetry.
Eclipse is produced by Stageworks Worldwide Production and president Amanda Thompson feels the show at the Globe will set standards in spectacular production.
She commented: "We are pleased to be involved with the new theatre project which will bring more creative live entertainment into Blackpool, thus providing more jobs for performers and people in the theatre and entertainment industry."
