A JOINT operation between police and council officers has cut the amount of anti-social behaviour in Westleigh.
The success story follows a number of arrests and rowdy youngsters being warned about their conduct.
Parents have also been visited and warned to keep their children in check or face possible eviction.
Police and housing officers acted following an increase in the number complaints about the behaviour of young people.
Sgt David Waddicor commented: "Over a number of evenings we carried out observations in selected areas using surveillance equipment, plain clothes personnel, signed police vehicles and the police helicopter. A number of arrests were made for motoring and drug offences."
Director of Housing Peter Gee added: "We are determined to allow our tenants to enjoy peace and quiet in their own homes as they are entitled to do under the terms of their tenancy.
"We had no qualms about working with the police, visiting the parents of young people involved in anti-social behaviour and letting them know if they don't keep their children under better control they could lose their home.
"The vast majority of our law-abiding tenants are delighted with this joint approach, which should make life more tolerable."
