ECONOMIC development firm Enterprise plc has confirmed it is joining forces with another company in an £8 million deal.
The firm, formerly Lancashire Enterprises plc, is merging with Inner City Enterprise following approval by shareholders.
The chief executive of Enterprise, David Taylor, said the deal would help the firm expand its economic development activities.
"We shall be looking at a number of new business opportunities, particularly in the field of public and private sector partnerships," said Mr Taylor.
"The merger gives us a broader geographic coverage of the UK and brings us a highly skilled group of people who specialise in urban regeneration.
"Together with Enterprise's more broadly based-based expertise in economic development I believe we have a winning combination."
The acquisition of Inner CIty Enterprises is being financed by an increase in the company's share capital.
