DETECTIVES believe they may have found the place where 17-year-old Christopher Hartley's body was dismembered.
The development was revealed as police were in Dublin today applying for the extradition of a suspect in connection with their inquiries into the death of the Burnley teenager.
Forensic tests were being carried out at a residential property in central Blackpool in a bid to confirm it was the spot where the Christopher's body was cut up.
The news was revealed by Detective Superintendent Paul Buschini, the man leading the investigation, following an extensive search of the area near where the body was found.
Stuart Diamond, 20, of Park Road, Blackpool, was today due to make his second appearance before a district court in Dublin following his detention in the Republic last week.
Police want to take him to Blackpool for questioning after Christopher's headless body was found in a bin outside a hotel in the resort the day before New Year's Eve.
Christopher, of Helston Close, Burnley, had been in Blackpool for about eight months working at the Pleasure Beach and on stalls on the Golden Mile.
He had telephoned his family saying he would be back to see them on New Year's Day.
Police have still not found the teenager's head.
