IN reply to the remarks on drink-driving (Letters, January 12), it has been proved time and again that even one drink seriously impairs your ability to control a vehicle.
People who have one drink are just as guilty and, instead of trying to justify their actions, should re-organise their social activities so there is an appointed driver or taxi booked.
Surely, the choice for drivers between staying on soft drinks or going out in the car and either killing or maiming themselves or some innocent bystander is an easy one.
We should all be taking a stand and supporting the "None for the road" campaign.
Why do I feel so strongly? I've seen the results of drink-driving - an 18-year-old boy, with everything to live for, lying in his coffin. It really is a good deterrent.
