UNIFORM firm Simon Jersey has won a top industry award for its success selling overseas.
The Altham based firm won their category in the British Apparel Export Awards for 1997.
The award, which was presented to the firm by the Princess Royal, is seen as the highest honour a firm in the industry can attain. Simon Jersey employs more than 300 staff selling over 1.4 million items of clothing a year to 25 countries worldwide.
The firm has distributors in 23 countries and is Europe's fastest growing supplier of clothing for business and industry.
Other winners of awards this year included Marks and Spencer.
The awards were launched 12 years ago to mark the achievements of the knitting and clothing industry.
