I WOULD like to express my strong opposition on legislation of marijuana (cannabis). I have been a medical man in the town for the past 35 years and have seen many marijuana addicts in ruination.
When the saturation point comes to the marijuana addict, he looks for stronger narcotics. You can say marijuana smoking is the first step towards hard-line drugs and all reactions result in the downfall of a human being.
The Home Secretary's views on the matter are proper and right and should be strongly supported by the leader and the community, doctors, teachers and other leaders of the country. He should be supported and not discouraged by the lamentable stand on the legislation of marijuana.
The number of addicts is increasing every year due to our uncaring society and moves to the so-called liberated attitude towards narcotics. I am ashamed at the views of an MP on this matter.
