SPEAKING about the knighthood of Tom Finney put Preston North End's Chief Executive in a bit of a squeeze - because of his tangerine shirt!

Peter Church had no meetings planned one day last week and decided to stay office-bound wearing his orange-coloured top.

Usually the shirt is a great source of gossip throughout the Deepdale club as it's the same colour heated rivals Blackpool play in.

But lo and behold television cameras rolled in and asked for Peter's views on Sir Tom, to be screened throughout the region.

So Peter put plan B into action. He said: "I put on a North End jacket and zipped it to the top.

"I couldn't believe it when the cameras turned up. I was expecting a quiet day."
