GARTH Dew's four tries against old rivals Fylde helped Preston Grasshoppers' under-10s side notch up two victories on Sunday (Jan 11).
They ran out 40-5 and 20-0 winners with Sam Chard and Alex Butler running in three tries each in the two games.
The under-7s managed to win 25-20 and draw 15-15 whilst the under 8s shared the honours losing 15-25 then winning an exciting second game 35-25.
Their friends in the under 9s also contrived to win and lose by 25-10 and 15-20 with newcomer Howard Clark scoring 3 tries.
With both teams defending unbeaten records the under 12s encounter between Hoppers and Fylde left both sides with honours even.
Full-back Anthony Mellalieu was a scorer in the exciting 7-7 result for his team that later the same day went on to thrash Manchester 43-0 with Chris Gorman and John Horton among a whole host of star players.
The under 14s scored an impressive win against Orrell outplaying them in every department.
George Leeming ran home three tries but try-of-the-match was definitely Matthew Riding with a darting run from his own half.
A word out of place to the referee cost the under 15s victory against Orrell whose last gasp penalty kick gave them a 20-19 win.
The under 17s travelled to Old Brodleians and lost 15-27 despite having been 10-0 up.
