KIND-HEARTED Citizen readers can congratulate themselves as funds raised for our St Catherine's Hospice day care extension appeal have gone through the roof.
Since it was launched last July, the Citizen's Brick by Brick campaign has built up more than £11,500, pushing the total totted up through the £150,000 mark.
Work on the new extension is storming ahead and the building will welcome its first patients in March, much sooner than anticipated.
And other agencies have realised how worthy our local good cause is. The Lloyds TSB Foundation put aside £5,000 to fund education and training facilities at the new extension.
The money will help furnish and stock the library and lecture rooms. But the work doesn't stop there. The call comes again for our loyal readers to buy or brick or spring to action and reach the target of £250,000. Together we can do it!
