IN reply to Jean Lewis's remarks on the shortage of facilities for recycling of plastics (Letters, January 12), the only one I know of is at Booth's supermarket, Clitheroe, which has a small bin for plastic bags. We use this, but where possible use 'permanent' shopping bags.
However, plastic bottles are another matter; I know of nowhere these can be disposed of to the benefit of the environment.
Can anybody tell me whether certain types of plastic bags and the soft plastic bottles in common use today are biodegradable?
JOHN GRAHAM, Moorland Road, Langho.
