YOUNG winning designers have received prizes for their top art work and could see their bright ideas printed on a T-shirt.
Six youngsters from across Pendle received £5 vouchers in a competition organised by Colne and Nelson market halls. Each market ran a contest to design a card based on the theme of the town.
Pendle Council estates officer Sharon Livesey said: "The children obviously put a lot of thought and effort into their entries and the standard of the cards was excellent, especially the two winning entries which we are hoping to print on a T-shirt.
"These competitions give school pupils the chance to show off their talents outside the classroom and there will be more competitions in the future to help bring together schools, businesses and the local community."
The Nelson winners received their prizes from Councillor Frank Hartley while the Colne trio received theirs from Councillor Edwina Sargeant.
Winners were: Nelson: 1, Michelle Buckingham; 2, Khadiya Shah; 3, Asad Mohammed (all Edge End High School, Nelson). Colne: 1, Ian Dobson (Primet High, Colne); 2, Ian McGee; 3, Luke Hodgson (both Fisher-More High, Colne).
