ATHERTON Tesco staff are making an 'heart felt' appeal for charity!
They are asking customers to wear their hearts on their sleeves to help local children who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.
The store is, for the seventh year, supporting the Variety Club Gold Heart Appeal.
Until February 15 customers can buy a distinctive gold plated, heart shaped brooch.
The brooch, carrying a rainbow design, costs £1. All proceeds will go direct to the appeal.
Gold Heart Day aims to raise awareness of the special needs of children throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or otherwise disadvantaged and raise funds for the Variety Club's work with children.
The ultimate goal is to have everyone in Great Britain wear their Gold Heart brooch on Gold Heart Day, February 14.
Atherton store manager Steve Humphries said: "Tesco staff and customers have supported the Variety Club's Gold Heart Day since it began in 1991 and have raised £4.4 million to date."
