A TERRIFIED woman was awoken by the sound of an intruder searching her house while she was in bed.
The incident happened at 8.30am on Saturday, January 3 at her home in Robins Lane, Sutton, when the woman, who is in her 40s, went downstairs to investigate the noise and was confronted by a man. However, after she screamed at him to leave, the man made good his escape and a later examination showed that nothing had been stolen.
The intruder was white, between 17 and 20 and about 5ft 9ins tall with a slim build. He wore a waxy jacket and spoke with a St Helens accent.
