KEY employers and major companies are being offered a cash incentive to invest in and promote Leigh and Golborne town centres.
Coalfield Challenge and Wigan Borough Partnership are putting up a pound-for-pound incentive for a joint initiative.
Firms regionally are being urged by town centres manager John Ayres to think locally by talking up the towns.
He said: "I believe there are scores of opportunities for businesses to share in the economic revival of the region by the using the town centres strategically.
"In particular, I would like to explore the concept of partnership promotions on a matched £1 for £1 basis as long as it encourages people to come into the towns more often."
John said he is particularly keen to develop joint selling propositions, create more events, encourage support for businesses, make use of Leigh and Golborne town centres for communities and to develop a network of people who care about the area.
He added: "I would be willing to discuss possibilities for promoting the communities and anyone who would like to chat with me can contact me on 01942-705792."
