BURNLEY town centre's Bethesda Street will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning as the local Marks and Spencer store prepares to go up in the world.
The store will be taking delivery of a 40 metre escalator - part of £2.9 million improvements and expansion which will see the store operate on two floors for the first time.
A building crew will work all day manoeuvring the escalator into position and stock will be moved to different parts of the store to allow it to be installed.
A well as the escalator, the new-look Marks and Spencer will feature a customer lift, together with customer toilets, baby changing facilities and an upgraded customer ordering service.
The whole development will be completed in spring, when a major £12 million new stores and parking project around the store is expected to get under way.
