I AM trying to trace living relatives of the following people who all came from Blackburn.
Alice Jane Earnshaw, Margaret Brooks and Mary Ann Ramsbottom were sisters whose maiden name was Riley. Their parents, James and Elizabeth (Beth) Riley, lived in Black Diamond Street, Blackburn, in the 1880s and 1890s.
Margaret, the eldest, married Thomas Brooks and they lived at 63 Carlisle Street.
Mary Ann married George Ramsbottom and they had one daughter, Elizabeth, who married Harold Ernest Dawson in 1912.
Alice Jane married Robert Earnshaw in 1885 and they had a daughter Elizabeth (my grandmother) in 1887.
They lived at 51 Shear Brow. I believe they emigrated to the USA when Elizabeth was very young. She returned to England and was living at 1 Hope Street, Ramsbottom, in 1910. I discovered that Elizabeth, with a young baby, lived in Marple in 1914 with a Mr James Verity.
Thomas Brooks and Mary Ann Ramsbottom were last traced living together at 71 Charlotte Street, Blackburn, in 1937.
