I WAS surprised and rather disgusted to read that filming is to begin on a movie on the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Princess has only been dead since August 31. I consider that it is far too soon to be making a film on her life. In my opinion, at least 10 years should go by before one is made.

It can only be distressing for Diana's two children, William and Harry, and to the family of the late Princess and, of course, to Mr Al Fayed, whose son, Dodi, was also killed in the accident.

And I am far from reassured by the fact that the executive producer of the film is Mr Kelvin Mackenzie, a former editor of The Sun.

I agree with the lawyers of the Princess of Wales Trust who have protested that the making of the film is far too soon after her tragic death.

One has also to feel for Miss Amy Secombe, the actress who will play the part of the late Princess.

However good an actress she is, how do you play the role of the most glamourous woman in the world?

And it is to be regretted that no money from the film will be going to the Princess's memorial fund.
